IDA ANNIE PEASE (RECKSIEDLER)
Date of Passing: Nov 20, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIDA ANNIE PEASE (nee RECKSIEDLER) It is with much sorrow that we announce, our beloved mother Ida Annie Pease, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2008. Ida was predeceased by her husband Lloyd in 1980. Ida's memory will always be cherished by her loving children, Douglas (Carol) Pease, Pat (Lawrence) Dressel; as well as her grandchildren, Jennifer Dressel, Katherine Dressel, Miguel (Roxanne) Lecuyer and her great-granddaughter Jolie Dressel. Ida is survived by her two sisters Mary Rach, Esther Hammond and her brother William (Jean) Recksiedler. Ida was born in 1918 to Henrietta and Gotlieb Recksiedler. She was one of 14 brothers and sisters. Ida grew up on the family farm in the Jack Fish Lake region of Manitoba. She had faced many hardships as did her siblings. She was afflicted with polio at a young age which affected her throughout her life. Ida married Lloyd in 1938 and a few years later, they moved to Winnipeg to live and raise their family. Ida always loved having a rousing good game of cards with friends and family. You could find her out in her yard at 6:00 a.m. pulling the weeds and tending to her lush and tidy garden. Ida's home and children were the things she loved the most. But then along came the Grandchildren. They are apple of my eye was her quote when discussing grandchildren; she would think nothing of baking them a cheesecake for breakfast if that was the request. For the last 10 years, Ida was a resident of the third floor of Kildonan Personal Care Home, where she was so well cared for. Ida and her family appreciated all the kindness showed her over those years. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so may make memorial donations to charities of their choice. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery # 1 Green Acres Lane, (204) 222-3241 Life stories may be shared with friends and family across the globe at www.mem.com
